Job Description

The Warehouse Lead will coordinate dock activities and ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations at a 10-day transfer facility.  The Warehouse Lead will manage the safe and compliant packaging and shipping of hazardous waste to keep materials out of landfills and water supplies.  

Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

•    Coordinate and direct the daily activity of all warehouse staff.
•    Coordinate all outbound and inbound loads as needed with manager oversight.
•    Provide on the job training and continuous improvement training to current, future, and temporary warehouse staff.
•    Ensure completion of pre/post shift checklists.
•    Relay issues to management team regarding any unscheduled deliveries or missing supply requests.
•    Ensure proper operation of fork trucks and other heavy equipment.
•    Unload inbound trucks and load outbound trucks containing drums or other containers of hazardous, non-hazardous and universal wastes.
•    Ensure accuracy of inbound and outbound shipping documents by correctly counting containers removed from or added to trucks.   
•    Ensure supplies are loaded as requested by drivers onto vehicles. 
•    Complete paperwork legibly, accurately, and in a timely manner.
•    Follow all Health & Safety/Job Safety Analysis (JSA's) procedures as outlined in Clean Earth procedures and policies.
•    Assist in maintaining inventory and storage of hazardous materials in accordance with appropriate regulations and Clean Earth policies, practices, and procedures.
•    Assist in maintaining inventory of supplies, including tracking usage and requesting procurement of supplies needed.
•    Segregate and package material for transport along with completion of required paperwork in accordance with appropriate regulations and Customer/Clean Earth policies, practices, and procedures.
•    Assist with other facility operations and housekeeping.
•    Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management. 
 


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
•    HS Diploma or GED
•    One year of plant/warehouse experience
•    Ability to wear personal protection equipment (PPE) including eye protection, face shield, Tyvek coveralls, steel toe boots and respirator
•    Ability to operate equipment (fork trucks/forklifts) and technical ability to operate a hand cart/ 2-wheel dolly and pallet jack.
•    40-hour HAZWOPER certified
•    Ability to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods of time
•    Ability to lift 55lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:
•    Ability to follow procedures and pay attention to details
•    Ability to observe safety and security procedures; determine appropriate action beyond guidelines; report potentially unsafe conditions; use equipment and materials properly
•    Ability to present ideas in a clear, concise, organized, and diplomatic manner; listen to others to respond effectively to ideas and questions
•    Experience with computer software applications, including Opti-Trak and shipping software
