Responsible for supervising the lab pack field team and the facility retail/labpack depacking team and is responsible for the safe and efficient packaging, handling, and processing of retail and labpack waste at the Clean Earth facility. Ensures the teams consistently meet regulatory and safety compliance measures and operates in a productive and profitable manner in accordance with Clean Earth policies, practices, and procedures.
Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
Manages all aspects of the lab pack field team including hiring, training, development, and performance in accordance with HR policies and practices.
Coordinate lab pack field projects as needed that may include high hazard services, HHW, or any business-related needs. • Manages the team responsible for the de-packing of lab pack and retail waste including all reactives, cylinders and specialty waste.
Acts as a technical resource for the team as well as customer service and sales.
Maintains a high level of customer satisfaction, both internally and externally.
Submits lab pack consolidation sheets to end disposal facilities for approval.
Works with management team to implement, update, and develop standard work practices.
Ensures appropriate paperwork is completed and data is entered correctly in system including manifest and land disposal restriction forms.
Assists in ensuring that the plant meets regulatory and safety compliance measures and operates in a safe, productive, and profitable manner. Ensures compliance with all program objectives.
Performs periodic audits and review of inbound containers and provides feedback to appropriate management group.
Administers all Clean Earth Company policies and procedures, communicates to staff and when necessary, ensures compliance.
Support sales department in the implementation of new accounts, presentation of services, response to inquiries and technical information.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Required Qualifications:
Associate College degree in area of General Science or equivalent experience
4+ years of Lab Pack experience
1+ years of management experience
Light to Moderate travel with periodic overnights
Preferred Qualifications:
BS/BA in science related field.
Well-developed knowledge of Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA) regulations.
40-hour OSHA training completed and current.
DOT and RCRA training completed and current.
Familiar with state regulations within service area.
Strong communication skills to interact with customers and staff to provide information, explanations, and/or instructions • Ability to operate a powered industrial truck such as forklift.
