Position Overview: As an Industrial Maintenance Technician at Harsco Environmental, you will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of our industrial machinery and mechanical equipment. Your expertise will ensure the continuous operation of our production processes, contributing to our overall efficiency and success.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting preventive maintenance on a variety of machinery and mechanical equipment, including motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
- Identifying mechanical issues by observing equipment in operation, listening for problems, and utilizing precision measuring instruments.
- Performing equipment installations and upgrades as necessary to support production needs.
- Responding promptly to mechanical maintenance requests and inquiries to minimize downtime.
- Verifying the accuracy and condition of received warehouse goods against purchase orders and delivery documents.
- Maintaining detailed records of preventive maintenance activities and procedures.
- Conducting regular safety inspections to uphold a safe working environment and adherence to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Conducting inspections and repairs on overhead cranes to ensure optimal functionality.
- Utilizing maintenance welding skills for equipment repairs as required.
- Proficiency in mechanical systems and Low Voltage systems.
- Experience with vacuum pumps and various other pump systems
- Experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints for troubleshooting, repairs, and process improvements.
- Strong diagnostic skills to identify mechanical issues and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
- Capable of performing moderate to heavy physical labor, including climbing, standing, lifting, and repetitive motions.
- Commitment to working collaboratively within a team to achieve production goals.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or apprenticeship training in millwrighting is advantageous.
- Proven experience as a Millwright in an industrial setting, preferably within the steel manufacturing industry.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to obtain relevant certifications as required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and materials.
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces as necessary.
