Clean Earth is permitted to receive and process petroleum and non-petroleum hydrocarbon contaminated soil, sediment, and media.
Duties will include handling the processing, treatment, and beneficial reuse of soils and media.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect outbound trucks prior to departure
- Process materials in compliance with applicable safety or environmental regulations
- Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting machines, other processing equipment or doing other preventive maintenance actions
- Remove clogs, defects, or impurities from machines
- Learn and follow safety regulations
- Notify supervisors of problems encountered with material or equipment
- Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time
- Apply and remove the area specific locks and tags as identified on the equipment specific lock out procedure
- Direct traffic movement or warn of hazards, using signs, flags, lanterns, and hand signals
- Complete general site housekeeping, including snow removal
- Other duties as assigned
This position requires the ability to work in outdoor conditions during all seasons and in various types of weather.
- No prior experience is required; experience in operating small and heavy equipment preferred
- Working Outdoors: Exposed to very hot or cold temperatures
- The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects
- Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials
- The ability to exert yourself physically over long periods of time
- Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach
- Good communication and leadership skills.
- Safety first mentality.
- Positive attitude and maintain a production focused environment.
- Good problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work in a busy, often distracting work environment.
- Must be able to lift-up to 50 pounds unassisted on an occasional basis.
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
- Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time
