Job Description

INTERNSHIP SUMMARY:

This internship aims to enhance the candidate's environmental, sustainability, and regulatory skills by assisting with environmental planning and new business initiatives within the Environmental and Regulatory Affairs Team.

The Environmental Planning Intern will collaborate with the entire Regulatory Affairs Team and other internal departments and cross functional teams. Responsibilities will vary based on workload, with a primary focus on supporting prospecting efforts through research, managing prospect and pipeline data, generating reports, and assisting with events.

INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support diverse environmental planning projects, especially related to environmental data quality and environmental auditing.
  • Learn to draft sections of environmental documents and review/edit materials developed by technical specialists for a variety of state and federal agencies.
  • Input information into internal tracking software(s) and/or spreadsheets
  • Gain exposure to how Clean Earth advises clients on federal and state regulatory requirements across various project types.
  • Gain experience working with a diverse team of planning and natural resource professionals.
  • Attend meetings related to your position
  • Assist with other projects as assigned
  • Visit facilities to get an understanding of how our remediation process work

Qualifications

WORK HOURS, BENEFITS, PAY:

  • Full-time Position 
  • Hybrid Schedule: (3 days in office and 2 days remote)
  • 8 Weeks (June 1- July 31st)
  • Hourly Rate: $20-$21/hour

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Ideal candidate would a college junior or senior who is actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or similar field of study. 

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

  • High proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Ability to navigate multiple systems to research and find information
  • Interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication
  • Must possess a high level of motivation and excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality
  • Above average spelling and grammar skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • High level of organizational ability and ability to multi-task
  • Professional demeanor
  • Ability to be proactive and work independently
  • Detail-oriented with good analytical skills
  • Regular and predictable attendance
