Position Summary:
Reporting to the Vice President of the Americas, the Director of Contracted Services leads and oversees all aspects of Harsco Rail’s contracted service operations across North America. This position is responsible for strategic planning, service delivery, customer satisfaction, P&L performance, and operational excellence in all contracted service engagements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for contracted services aligned with company goals and customer needs. - Operational Oversight:
Manage field operations for service contracts including maintenance-of-way, grinding, and on-track machine services. Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and performance standards. - Client Relationship Management:
Serve as the primary executive liaison for contracted service customers. Develop long-term partnerships and ensure contract compliance. - P&L Responsibility:
Oversee financial performance of all contracted service agreements, including budgeting, forecasting, and margin improvement. - Team Management:
Lead a multi-disciplinary team including project managers, operations leaders, and field personnel. Foster a high-performance, safety-first culture. - Continuous Improvement:
Drive operational efficiency through the adoption of Lean practices, automation, and innovation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA preferred. Equivalent experience will be evaluated in lieu of educational qualifications.
- 10+ years of leadership experience in rail operations, transportation, or industrial services.
- Proven experience managing large-scale service contracts and field operations.
- Strong knowledge of rail industry regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
